Has anybody ever had to replace their water muffler that sits on the port side behind the engine? It's approximately a 14 in.² box with a fabricated metal hose system that feeds water from the engine through it. Mine happens to be leaking and I'm not sure where to find one. Any thoughts? Take care, Rich.

I replaced ours with a Vetus like this one:
Vetus Exhaust Waterlock - Plastic Waterlock Type NLP 2".
It has worked really well and installation was simple as it twists and articulates as needed. Doing so created some left over space where I store absorbent pads, and could store spare filters, etc.
I don't remember the exact model number I used.

We had similar problem and after removing and proper cleaning the "mickey-mouse quality" was clearly visible. We made a proper repair with GRP-epoxy on the inlet and also we attacked the bottom part, which we actually filled with epoxy till a flush bottom. Not a complicated repair and now all is repaired.

I fixed my leaking water muffler with high temperature resistant JB weld. Going on 4 years...there is another similar post on this forum with detailed repair procedure and pictures.

I ordered a new one from Catalina Yachts in Largo, Florida. It sent me drawings of several models to find the one that matched our original muffler.
