I have a 2003 C36 with a M36B motor. These are the original mounts installed by Catalina at the factory. I need to replace them. The part number for all 4 are the same Westerbeke #040510. I thought they were suppose to be different mounts for front and rear.
Has anybody found a direct replacement other than going through Westerbeje or CD?

I have the same engine mounts in our 2005. All four are stamped with p/n 40510. Evidently there's no difference between the front and back mounts.

Thanks, Paul. I’ve spent a lot of time searching this forum and elsewhere. What I haven’t been able to find is anyone who has replaced the mounts while the boat was still in the water when the replacement mounts had a different bolt pattern. I’m trying to avoid the expensive OEM 40510s, but most reasonably priced alternatives require filling the old mounting holes and drilling new ones. I’d really like to hear from someone who’s actually done that job afloat. Any advice or photos would be greatly appreciated.

I replaced the motor mounts on #1925, a 2001 MKII with the M35B but I did it on the hard. The port side aft mount is the difficult part because it is under the bulkhead and against the divider to the galley and water muffler. SInce I was lifting the engine redrilling the holes wasn't a big deal. I use the Metalastic Cushymounts purchased from Mission Supply., it cost about $700 for all four. They've been working as expected, no issues since installation. Mount-Cushyfloat (00) 16X45 Item# 17/1609-45, I ordered the heavy duty adjuster bolts but the nuts were too big for the application so I reused the original studs and hardware.
I think raising the engine can be done in the water with good preparation, it only needs to go up a few inches and can be maneuvered with a 2x4 lever and some blocks of wood. It could also be tied to the boom and raised with a couple blocks and straps.
With careful measuring actually changing the mounts is a couple hours work. Thinking through all the prep, having the tools, a helper and supplies adds some time before the actual operation.
All that said I'm glad I got to do it while on the boatstands.
