Hi All,
My mainsheet rubs against my brand new dodger--when I have a full main up and centered. Unfortunately, the dodger was measured when the mast was out of the boat.
Can I move my aft bale forward a few inches without compromising the integrity of the boom? If so, are there any other suggestions for a proper installation, e.g. compression tube, etc.?
Thanks, in advance, for any thoughts,

Hi Dan,
The short answer is yes. My boat has a high dodger, it's great for protection and visibility. A previous owner, moved the aft bale forward a little, 20+ years later no issues. I do not have a photo of the boom, attacheded is an old photo of the boat & dodger.

Hi Dan,
I measured the move. The previous owner moved the aft bale 10" forward. No problems.

We moved the bale a few inches forward on our C36 to accomodate a redesigned dodger; no big deal. If I recall correctly (don't own the boat anymore) we put a bolt through the old location to reinforce.
