Edit your comment

Hi all,

It almost seems like I shouldn't jinx it, but I finally found how to fix the bug with not being able to edit comments you make on a forum thread.

Unfortunately the fix involved disabling the module that provided the quote button, but that was pretty useless anyway as it copied the entire parent post and you had to do a bunch of cutting anyway. So for now to quote a post to which you are replying, you'll just have to copy and past the line(s) by hand. Sorry about that, but so worth it to get editing!

Cheers,

- nick

In many occasions there has been a need to upload a file that is over 2M.
This restriction can easily be changed.

Hi Haro,

Could you please give some examples? Are you talking about image files? Or other documents? Are you referring to attachments to a Forum post, or uploads elsewhere in the system?
The site is not currently designed to facilitate attachments of manuals etc. to Forum posts, but rather that such resources (if not subject to copyright etc) are available to Association Members in the Technical or another section.

Please describe your desired outcome, and we'll see if we can make it happen.

Thanks,

Nick Tonkin

I was trying to upload the PDF manual for another user. The file was 2.4M. The max size is limited to 2M. This limit is displayed on any upload. This limit can be changed by the webhosting company. This limit is currently displayed below this comment field.

But the PDF manuals (size > 25Mb) are already available on this site at https://www.catalina36.org/members/technical/manuals/c36-manuals.

What you were attempting to do completely undercuts the Association and is unfair to the hundreds of Association Members who pay to support this site in exchange for added benefits. It's one of the exact reasons we -- not the hosting company -- have set the upload size limit!
