Need to Replace Fresh Water Pump

I have a ShurFlo 2088-723-244 fresh water pump, likely the original equipment.  It has trouble now and then, but taking it apart and putting it back togetehr seemed to fix it a couple of times.  I think I need to carry a spare or replace it, or at least have an overhaul kit.  I see Tom Soko recommended a different style pump -- 4901-0211 back in 2015, but that pump is not available.

Any suggestions on a replacement pump, on an overhaul kit would be appreciated.  Would like to have the same physical size and mounting to simplify replacement, but would modify mounting and plumbing if I had to or there was an advantage to a newer style.

Thanks!

Just replaced my old sureflo variable speed pump. It would run at a very slow speed, with no call for water.

I like the variable speed, and went with a Marco UP2/E. Very little use at this point, but seems live a really nice pump. Fisherias supply sells them, but it was $70 les to get it from Italy, including 2-day DHL. The pump in tiny, and has a brain with lots of LED's to indicate what it's doing.

Ken;
 I was down at the boat today and found that I replaced our fresh water pump with a Flo-Jet, Model # 4405-143. It delivers 4.2 gpm at 35 psi. and is designed for the marine enviorment.  It drives the sinks and showers just perfectly and it does not require a accumulator-pressure tank since it is a four lung unit. . Don't forget to order the elbows if necessary for your installation however the unit below comes with right angle connectors.

We had a Jabsco 3.5 GPM 40 PSI installed in July 2018. Similiar specs to previous pump. Works fine so far...
