Galvanic Isolators

Does anyone know if Catalina installed Galvanic Isolators on the MKll or was it usually an after markey sale? If one was installed, does anyone know where it is located.

I can't say for sure without consulting my wiring diagram, but I believe Catalina installed it at the factory on my 1999 model.

Mine is on the transom right where the shore power connectors are attached, accessible from the stbd lazarette.

Thanks for the response. It will be a couple of weeks before I can check this out but will let everyone know the results.

Yes 2135 has a Galvanic Isolator made by Pro Mariner. I finally found it tucked away around the corner of the walk through transom in the aft starboard locker. The shaft and strut zincs are holding up well however the engine zinc in the heat exchanger seems to be taking a beating and needs to be changed every three months. Does anyone have any ideas on tracing what may be a low level power leak in the engine or is three months considered normal wear for S.Cal waters?

I check my HX (not really engine) zinc every three months. Once I didn't and regretted it. It is NOT uncommon for them to deteriorate in that period of time. Our shaft and strut zincs last for over a year. The idea is to not think that they should all last the same, but be grateful that the access to the HX is so easy and can be done so quickly. Check it regularly, you will save having to remove the HX.

Thanks for the feedback, after moving Hilbre from Lake Mead to San Pedro, I was not sure what to expect. Being somewhat anal, I check everything regularly and service stuff probably more frequently than required. After seeing the HE Zinc take a beating, I was not sure if it was normal or not. Anyway I went out and bought 8 new Zincs just to be sure I had plenty on hand. Again thanks for the input.
