Epoxy for in-hull transducer mounting

What is the best epoxy to use when mounting an in-hull sonar transducer in the boat?

Airmar specifically advises against epoxy. They suggest silicone. I am not a huge fan of silicone because of the contamination it causes so I use Sikaflex 295UV which is safe for most plastics..
