While at the boat this week, I discovered my fridge is not working. The system seems to be getting power at all points and I think the compressor is running (making a noise), but the fan does not start up. My question is; is this a repairable item or will I need to replace the entire compressor?

My refridgerater went out and I reset it at the compressor. Read the booklet on it and it will explain the procedure.

Paul, my problem with this is I don't have the booklet. I have for everything else but that it seems.
I believe it is a CU 100. Does anyone know if available on line as a PDF?

Allan, send me an email at mraquaq at aol dot com and I'll send you my PDF copy of the manual for our 1986 model. Then you can get it to your website guys and post it online. Sorry, I just haven't done that for our C34 'site yet.
FWIW, the fan replacement is a simple fix. You can spend $43 for a replacement fan from a fridge repairman or you can spend $25 at Radio Shack for this: 4 inch 12 V DC fan #2730238. It's a little bit deeper plastic housing so you'll just need longer attachment bolts.
Check the fuse in the unit. Check the connections to the unit. Check the voltage both at the unit and at your batteries (house bank).

My refer problem is a little different. Recently, the Alder-Barbour unit has taken to running constantly, whereas previously, it cycled on about 50% of the time. I understand a 50% duty cycle is typical. I don’t attribute it to high ambient temperature. (It’s rare treat when it gets above the high 70’s on my part of the So. Cal. coast).
I’d appreciate any theories/suggestions, i.e. bad thermostat, coolant leak; time to junk it, ect. Thank you in advance.

I had the same problem with the fan(also causing the compressor to cycle at 100%).There was some paint flakes or corrosion stopping the fan from turning.Once i loosened the 4 screws holding the fan it spun again...i cleaned it and remounted..perfect ever since.
