I always thought white pants, white shoes, a white blazer and blue and white striped turtle neck looked pretty sharp but, a little stuffy for us west coast guys. Of course you need a slicker over this gear in damp conditions.
As for the transmission, neutral lets the prop free wheel when sailing and can add some noise and constant wear on the transmission. In gear forward or reverse will reduce this wear and tear on the transmission. Installing a feathering prop the the Kiwi reduces drag and eliminates the load on the transimission.

Neutral or Reverse, not forward. Most people choose reverse because it's quieter and there's less wear-and-tear on everything.

Don't forget to take it out of reverse before starting the engine.

OK, got it, thanks. Reverse it is.
I have been wearing a Borat Slingshot Swimsuit in this warmer weather.
The ladies seem to like it.
