Who says the Catalina 36 doesn't go well in light air?

This fall we entered the local Polar Bear series starting Oct. 20th. After a postponement we got off a very short (around 35 minute) light air windward leeward, which we somehow managed to win. We even beat a couple real race boats like an SR33 around the course.

Anyhow, it has been an exceptionally light-air fall for Vancouver, meaning every weekend since racing has been abandoned. This means, in an extremely light air series, that Nimue has sat atop the podium for 7 weeks straight. That's a record for us!

Okay, hardly a fair assessment, 90% of statistics are made up on the spot anyways....

Good for you, Jason. Great humour, too. (even spelled it the Canadian way, eh)

BTW, it is 87% of statistics are made up on the spot, not 90%. Sheesh!:)

Final race was yesterday, and we won the series! Tied for the win with a Peterson 35, but we had a bullet in our scoreline so we won the tie breaker. One windy race, and a whole lot of light air this winter. Must say it was frustrating as we would often start well, and then have much faster boats slowly grinding us down all through the race, but we held our own pretty good considering.

Wow, Good for you, Jason. I am not much of a racer, but I have learned that you find out who's really good when they find ways to win in light air.
