Would like to see a 36' MK II

I would like to see and meet some owner. I've been redoing a 2002 36' MK II and would like to see how your lines are run. I live in the Myrtle Beach area and would be glad to travel to Charleston or Wilmington just to spend 20 minutes of your time.
Would like to meet some one traveling south on the ICW, if you are stopping in this area.
Thanks.

That would be a very nice way to meet some fellow C36 skippers. Have yo also considered checking the C36 Mark II manuals? I'm sure they're here on this wonderful website.

There are many things we can help with here, but to learn to actually sail decently, you will need to either be a good self-learner coupled with much reading, or get someone (preferably someone who knows how to teach) to show you.

Enjoy the process and best of luck with the boat.

Hello PClayton, you are welcome to come up to New Bern, NC. I will gladly show you my boat and how I have the running rigging set up on it. My vessel is a 2001 MKII.

Thanks for all the replies, especially ProfDruHot for the invite. I got hooked up with a reputable rigger out of Charleston that is familiar with the C36. I have made arraignments for him to rig the mast and I plan on taking some lessons.

Speaking as a former sailing instructor, I have to say that lessons from a *qualified* instructor are truly worth the time and money. You will become a more competent, safer sailor in far less time than if you tried to figure this out by yourself. There are some VERY dangerous and VERY expensive mistakes than can be made on a sailboat, important topics that are covered in the first few days of professional lessons. You new boat, not to mention your family and your crew, deserves a competent skipper at the helm.

Larry's points are well made. Hence, this quote from Will Rogers:

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Bummer, my wife and I just left Osprey Marina, Myrtle Beach, yesterday, heading south on the ICW. We will be in Charleston tonight and for the next couple days. Will be anchoring near the Coast Guard station. Would be happy to have you check our our MKII

Mike - good friends of ours are anchored right in the same place right now. Look for a C380 named Gertie from NJ. Tell them Joe and Patti said, "HI!"
