I like sailing to "get away from it all" and TV has always seemed a big part of "it all", so I tossed out the TV that PO had put in the diagonal cabinet with the sliding door. Now I'm finding that a TV is about all it's good for because anything else seems to get caught up behind the sliding panel and jams up the thing.
I have seen a couple people document some very excellent custom cabinets that they have built to replace it, but I'm lacking time and ambition to tackle that sort of project. Has anyone come across a turn-key aftermarket solution or some other simple conversion that can make better use of the cabinet? It's a great space if I could figure a better door for it.

Greg,
I turned mine into a liquor locker. I've attached a pic of it in my MkI, but the concept is the same in the MkII. 1/4" plywood (or old teak and holley floorboards if you have them!), a little time with a jig saw, and you have a spot where bottles won't smash together.

Tom,
I now have a much better understanding about how you could of amassed the knowledge you have of our boats. Keep the owners manual in a place you visit often. I wonder if mine will get soggy if I keep it in the reefer with my beer, I know I will see it more often than when kept under the chart table where I have always kept mine

My wife keeps dry goods like cereal and pasta and other foodstuff like that in there. Most of it is put into tupperware type sealable containers. I nicknamed her the Queen of Tupperware, you should see the collection! But we do have fresh cereal! So far it hasn't jammed the slide I think because the containers mostly have rounded edges.
