I stopped by the yard where I am about to haul my boat and was talking with a person who was just finishing up a bottom paint job and polishing the hull and was amazed by the shine on the hull. When I asked him he indicated that he had been using a product, that was new to me. It is something called New Glass 2.
Has anyone ever heard and or used this product? Apparently it is not a wax and there isn't a need to buff it out. Practical Sailor recommends it.

It sounds like that other one, can't remember the name of it, that you wipe on in multiple thin coats. Have heard mixed reviews on the longevity of that one, some swear by it, others not so much.
Would be nice if there was a magic bullet for chalky fibreglass that didn't involve hours with the compound, wax and polisher.
Will this stuff work on my fiberglass Corvette automobile?

The other product you may be talking about is Poly Glow ( http://www.poliglow-int.com/ ). I have used PG on the hull of my boat for the past several years. Easy to put on and maintain. I found the area on the topside exposed to the sun all day, while tied up in my slip, tends to need more attention.
After prepping the hull you put on at least three coats. The first coat looks pretty bad. The second coat gives a hint of a streaky shine. The third coat shines. Application is a quarter the effort of waxing and touchup is easy. My hull was chalky and did not like wax. I worked long frustrating hours and used numerous wax products guaranteed to make a shine. I got mediocre success with these wax products.
As with all gel coat experts each has their opinion on one product over another, wax vs. synthetic. I have listened to those preferring waxing stating the synthetic products don't last. I found this product works for me. I have not touched my hull in two to three years and the shine is still there while my neighbor waxes every year and...
I would suggest if you do have a waxed hull that shines stick with the wax but for a hull like mine I'd suggest considering something like Poly Glow.
