I just purchased a new 100 ' long jib Sheet and am thinking of tying a cargo hitch at the midpoint or cut it in half and fasten to the jib with bowline hitches.
Are there any benefits to either? I have a 1991 Catalina 36 and currently have the two jib sheet setup with bowline knots

I use one 80 foot 5/8" line with butterfly knot in the middle. The line is continues so it makes a small knot and it does not become hung up on the standing rigging when tacking.
