The manual states the mast is a Z Spars (from US Spars?). My question centers on greasing the furling components.
The Catalina manual states to use a grease gun, not an aerosol, on the ball race of the halyard swivel, and on the ball race of the top and bottom of the furling mechanism.
1. I am not certain where these are found. When peering into the slot and looking at the top and bottom of the worm gear, it is not completely evident to me as to where I would apply the grease. Can anyone provide a picture or a better description? And what type of grease is best?
2. What other components can be lubricated to make the mast easier to pull out and furl in? Is a dry lube best for the Boom Car and other components?
Thanks for your help!

Our boat has a Charleston furling mast. I just checked some tech info, and only periodic freshwater rinses are recomended for the internal bearings and mechanisms. I am not sure about "Z Spar" maintenance but would guess it would be similar.
If you are having difficulty furling/unfurling:
-Reduce the main halyard tension when pulling the sail out. Tighten the halyard when sail is fully deployed.
-Make sure the boom is at a right angle via toping lift or vang.
-When furling, keep tension on the outhaul line so the sail wraps tightly on the furler. A loosely wrapped sail can fill the cavity, create friction or jam the unit.
