Looking for recomended Boat Lettering Source

Our current lettering/boat name was made from a decal that is beginning to peel away after the fourth season. (The hull was thoroughly prepped per the instructions). I can't recall the name of our source, but it cost an arm and a leg and was apparently not made from high quality material. (I don't believe it was vinyl, but some other material that transferred to the hull when a squeegee rub was applied to the paper backing.) I found a prospective source on line- "CustomVinylLettering.net"- which has great prices and you select the font size, color, design etc. They have a great web site. My concern is that they said their lettering is good for 3-5 years. Our former boat had lettering that still looked new after 15 years of ownership. Does anyone have experience with this source or can recommend one?
Thanks

Paul - The life expectancy of vinyl lettering depends on its color. Red will not last as long as black. I changed the lettering on my boat with sky blue vinyl lettering, such as the ones that are installed on vans, 9 years ago and it is still good. You go to any sign maker, such as FAST Signs, no I do not work there, who has the computerized printer with cutting blade, give them the size available for the sign. You can see their fonts and size and approve the design. Wait there while they cut. Installing requires oil-free surface - clean with fingernail polish remover - or 100% acetone and stick the lettering that is already on a wax paper. Send us a photo.

Paul,
I have used CustomVinylLettering.net a couple of times for several safety launches for the local crew team I volunteer for.  I would describe their quality as "good".  I think that a better choice might be the lettering division of BOAT/US.  If I remember correctly, they have two different grades of vinyl. I chose the heavier of the two for large lettering on the hull of Juniper seven years ago, and it still look great. Navy blue in color.  Hope this helps.

Paul,

If you are looking for more of a custom or private individual try Renee Dayringer at Renee@ohiographicservices.com (email address)  She has done my parents current and last boat and will be doing ours this spring.  She is located in Fremont, Oh but can work through email and ship I am sure.  Cost is reasonable and she has been a pleasure to work with.

Good Luck

I use A Signs in Nashua, NH. Keith is terrific to deal with and will travel. He can be reached at 603-882-9558.

Keith does excellent work.

I changed the name of my last year, and used Boat US graphics and was very pleased with the quality and price.  Unfortunately I don't have a pic, but here is the link: https://www.boatus.com/boatgraphics/
