Line Storage

I am curious how some of you store your lines.  I have dock lines & spring lines that I neatly throw into one of the aft lockers.  thoughts?

I keep the everyday lines attached to the slip.  I also have a second set of mooring lines for traveling.  I keep those in my cockpit locker.  We don't use these much, as we anchor more than moor as transients.

I am thinking of moving them to the lazarette locker, but want to make sure it wont impede with steering in heavy weather.

I too, have everyday set at the dock.  I was speaking to my travelling set.  I was trying to ask, on how they are stored.  Coiled up, thrown into the abyss.  Stored in buckets? Hanging from the sides?  I am looking for a neat idea how to keep the proverbial locker tidey.

I keep mine coiled up so its easy to determine short ones from longer ones, I.e. Bow/stern/and spring lines.  I was thinking of getting some line organizers and storing them coiled in the lazarette.  Right now I keep them in the cockpit locker, fwd section with the traveling fenders.  It's not super neat, but organized enough to get to them easily.

I have a milk carton attached to the stbd lifelines(spray painted white) where i throw all the mooring lines..Got tired of the wet lines creating corrosion on the AB compressor, mold etc in the port cockpit locker..plus makes more room for other things
