Gas Grill Recommendation

Our stern is too loaded up with accessories (davits, bimini, motor hoist & mount) to comfortably use our Magma kettle briquette grill without the risk of starting lines or the bimini on fire, especially when initially firing the grill up without the top in place. Has anyone utilized the Magma kettle gas grill version with a similarly busy transom?

If I mounted the grill on the vertical gate stanchion and hung it over the side, it looks like it would be far enough from either the dodger or bimini, but worry that it might smoke out the cockpit when the boat swings at anchor.

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks

We really enjoy the Magma gas grill.  I have to reach between the Bimini supports to work it.  When it opens the mouth is facing to starboard, not towards the chef.  If the dinghy is on the davits, I drop the dinghy a bit to be not so close.   It's not like at home, but the whole family loves it.

I solved our grill mounting problem: we converted from the Magma charcoal unit to the Magma kettle gas unit and purchased an extension arm with a larger 1 1/4" pole clamp. This enables us to attached it to the Garhauer davit and position it over the water and well away from the Bimini. The davit hoist line, when given some slack is sufficiently far away from the grill heat. Obviously, the dinghy can not be hanging from the davits at the same time we are using the grill. I went with this approach rather than mounting it off a side deck stanchion, because having it on the stern better shields it from the breeze. I would attach a photo, but my Iphone/MacBook doesn't have a compatible format.
