We recently purchased a 1983 MK1. The galley sink drips mercilessly when there is water pressure, so I figure some washers need replacing. I haven't found any previous posts on this, or in the technical references (which surprised me). I plan to take it apart and head to the local hardware store to try and match parts, but wondered if anyone had any insight.
thanks!
Doug
Glad you like your new boat,we have had ours 8 years and love it . We live close to you also. If you have a 2 handle faucet do like several people have done and replace it with a single lever faucet I bought mine at fisheries supply at north lake union If you have a new boat and have not gone there ,you will like them. Much much better than wesr marine. The single lever will save water and is much easier to use

Bill,
Thanks for the note and the reply. I am interested in replacing with a single handle faucet. I read on 1 of the technical articles that that owner had to do a fair amount of adaptation/grinding to get the faucet to fit. What was your experience? Can you offer some pointers and insight into the model you installed?

David,
I have what appears to be the OEM original 2 handle faucet. I attached a photo if that's helpful.

I have the scandig single lever that I bought at Fisheries. I also replaced the faucet in the head with a single lever and put in a seperate mixing control and shower head. Makes taking a shower much easier. The faucet went right in the hole that the old faucet was in.I did cut a hole in front of the sink to make it easier to work on.If you want to look at what I did my boat is about 30 min from Tacoma at Fairharbor in Grapeview just south of Allyn

Bill,
The comment I did cut a hole in the front of the sink intrigues me. Could you explain a bit more, or perhaps offer up a picture of what it is you did?

I have the exact same boat and the same problem. Looks like you can get the replacement parts for 25bucks a piece. I haven't ordered yet but i'm planning on it.
The one advantage is its very difficult to work on the faucet unless you cut a hole in the sink as suggested. Replacement parts means none of that.

I did find the o-rings at Menards hardware as well.

We went the route of replacing the entire faucet with a single handle I purchased from Fisheries Supply. It fit in the existing sink hole, and Mary and I love it. Looks great, too.
