Freestyle (1985 Mk1) has a new captain. Hopefully you will meet him soon here. His name is Bill.
With not a little sadness, we have made the decision to live near our grandkids in Phoenix.
I want to categorically refute the expression that the two happiest days in a boater's life are the day he buys it and the day he sells it. Wrong! The Happiest days were every time I stood at the helm underway. My wife commented more than once that it was the happiest she ever sees me ;-) By contrast, buying Freestyle in 2013 was an extremely stressful ordeal (was I making the right decision, was I up to all the work to restore her). Selling Freestyle was just plain sad... such a labor of love, so many good times..
Thanks to everyone on this forum for your invaluable support as we brought new life to our 30 yr old boat.
In celebration, here is a slideshow of our 4 years of restoration and incredible times boating here in the Pacific Northwest.
Fair winds to you all,
Paul

Wow, what a wonderful journey. Too bad you couldn't attach some wheels and sail her across the watery heat in the deserts of Arizona! But hey, think about how close you will be to the California coast. Who knows, there might be a few sailing vacations in your future yet. I used to rent a sailboat for a week or two every year until I finally bought my boat. All the best--JS
