Fender Covers, what to buy?

The boat im buying suffered some cosmetic damage from the PO's fenders scraping up the stripes and gel coat. I'm going to stop the madness. I know Taylormade makes covers and I've found other brands (polyform). I currently have TM fenders. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? It seems that spending a little more provides thicker material. My boat will live primarily on a mooring, so maybe the added expense isn't worth it. Curious your thoughts.

Sounds like you finally have to boat seatrialled and all!

My current boat came with fender covers (and other things) made with this product from sailrite:

Velcro latches on like no other, so just sew on the hook part and close it up. I have a cover for the anchor shank, biminimi parts that contact the canvas sides, propane bottle cover, etc...

Someone elses idea that we did on the old boat, but worked extremly well...buy a pair of fleece pants, polyster jogging pants, etc from goodwill... cut the legs off and neatly zip tie them on the fender. Two fender covers for $2 that look like a million bucks ;-)
