Downsize to get newer

Hey all,

I have a very basically configured 83 36 mki.  Great boat, love her.  I'd like to go newer andmay have to down size to afford it.  I am pricing 28 to 33.  I would appreciate y'alls experience/opinions on going from of 36 to a 28.  Looking at C28, C310, and Hunter 33-2004.

Stick with what you know.  Catalina.  You can always sell them with out losing much of your original investment.  Personally not a fan of Hunters, neither is our marina manager.  Many tend to "oil can" (flex when lifted by the crane) popping window seals, etc. IMHO.  Stick with what you know sails exceptionally well.

Thanks for the input.  Any thoughts on going to a smaller boat?  We are on a lake so minimal need for liveaboard.  Wondering if I ll be able to put up with, or eventually get used to, the characteristics of a smaller boat like a C28 for example.  More tender, less room, etc.  Not as small the C310 has a great v birth and the H33 has nice single handing set up with  winches behind the helm.

I had a Catalina 30.  Nice boat, sails really well.  Comfortable too.

30s are tried and true.  I went up from a 26 to the 36.  That was easy.  Going down from 36 is my concern.  But, hey, I guess I have to pay if I want to go newer.
