I can't tell from the pics if there is anything amiss. If you don't see any signs of cracking, which might lead to sudden failure later on, I would reassemble the windlass and judge by how well it works.
There should be no grinding noise from the gearbox. The clutch should engage and disengage smoothly when you tighten/loosen the top nut. The retrieval action should be continuous with no slippage.
