Dining table options.

Wondering if anybody has ever made any changes to the interior dining arrangements in their boat. I was thinking that a fixed pedestal table around the settee would be easier than pulling the table off the wall as needed, and then making the starboard side small table, a permanent couch, Which would make it easier for people to watch TV at night or read. Has anyone ever reconfigured these tables?

Thanks so much,
Rich.

I prefer to use the two seat table for dining as its usually just me or me and one other person.  Then I took my table down (I have the full booth with seats on 3 times.  I store the table in the after berth.  That gives me a nice comfortable conversation pit.  If I had a tv on the forward bulkhead behind the head, 2 or 3 people could sit with their back to the galley and watch it.

When I bought the boat, the big table was missing.  My stepdad made me a gorgeous one, and I order a top and bottom base, and a new pole for the middle.  Its nice to have options, and it adds another potential bunk, although I don't use it for sleeping often.  The shiny part is a reflection, not an imperfection in the table.

I am currently planning an alteration as well! I have the settee with lower able table to make a large bed, but find that it's way too hard to scoot in around the edges to the back, and we rarely have a couple staying over, so we may as well make it a single bunk and get more floorspace. I'm planning on doing something like John Lively's write-up in the technical documents.
