Correct Engine idenification

I am the new owner of a late 1990 C-36, hull #1041, and am just getting my feet wet with several issues. The Boat has  Universal 35 engine; but which series ? So my question is; How do I properly identify what series engine I have. Example; is is a 35, 35A, 35B, 35 BC ? The engine was rebuilt by the Previous Owner and was repainted Universal Gold over the top of the blue paint which is still somewhat visible.
Is there an engine plate some where that would correctly identify which engine I have ?
Thanks,

Bill

Your engine is easy to identify, there is a metal tag on your engine with the model etc stamped on it.  Yours may be painted over or it may be removed.

If you take a picture of your engine, and send it along to the members, it will be immediately apparent what model you have.

The M35A and the M35B have significant differences.

You can also look on this website for an engine manual.  It has pictures of the different engines and will be easy to identify your engine.

We've all been there, that's what this forum is for.

There is no "dumb" question when it comes to our Catalina 36 boats.

They are complex with multiple systems that have to work together.
