Cleaning interior cushions

Arriving at the boat Monday, I found that some moron (me) had remembered to close the stbd. aft portlight, but didn't dog it properly (left one side open). How I managed to do that is beyond me . I wasn't there in 3 weeks and it must have rained quite a bit. Dripped right on the big pillow at the end of the settee, soaked the cushions and seat backs, wooden seat bottom and put 4" of water at the deep end of the compartment. Can you say mildew?

The cushions have been dried out in the sun, but need to be cleaned to get rid of the smell. I have them at home. My intent is to remove the covers and wash them on gentle cycle, cold water. Cushions I'll do by hand in a big container, then air dry. My question is how to dry the covers. Can they be safely dried in the dryer, or should I hang them outside to dry? Would be a bad thing if they shrunk and I'd rather not replace them right now, they still have some life left in them (good material from Catalina).

Advise appreciated, thanks.

You know that'll make it rain for certain :)

My dryer has an 'air dry' setting. I'll probably hang them up first, and if they don't dry, try that. The foam will take the longest. Not to mention getting them back in; getting the foam out wasn't easy.
