Adler-Barbour Lid Seal

I need to replace the existing lid seal on my refrigerator but cannot find a replacement. The seal I removed is approx 1/2" square and quite firm nad dense, not spongy like the foam seals that Home Depot offers. Does anyone have a source for these lid seals?
Also, has anybody added additional insulation around the refrigerator box, under the counter? If so, how did you gain access and were you able to insulate the box all around or just in accessible areas. What type of insulation did you use? Is the spray expandable foam an option?
Thankyou,
Tony

Tony, I see no one has replied. For the seal, try McMaster Carr, they seem to have everything, or Grainger.

Yes, lots of people have done their insulation projects, hard to say how to search for it. Don't know if it's in the tech library or encyclopedia.

I just used high density closed cell foam weatherstripping that I got at Home Depot. Seems to work just ducky.

Tony, I just finished an extensive project of insulating the inside and outside of my fridge.

On the outside I used the reflective bubblewrap (called reflexic I think) and attached it with spray adhesive. I used expanding foam over the bubblewrap and sealed up all sides as well as the bottom. Be sure to put in some PVC pipe for conduits for hoses and wiring. I gained access for this through the doors in the aft berth, as well as through the "box" below the stove.

The inside was pretty labor intensive. I installed 1" rigid foam insulation throughout the entire interior. The bubblewrap was them glued over the rigid foam using the spray adhesive.

The result is that with my thermostat set to "3" I have 29 degrees in the freezer side and 36 in the refrigerator side. Also, I built a partition between the two sides using the foam and foil bubblewrap. Finally, I taped all the seams with aluminum ducting tape.

I will take some pictures and post them. There is a great deal of info in the upgrades section. I don't remember the poster, but he did a lot of work on his system and included pictures. I used lots of his ideas.

Cheers, Bill

Bill
Can you send photos of the project. Those of us here in Florida would like to see it.
