Access to Windlass Compartment - MkII

I recently added a Down Switch to my windlass and I discovered that access to the compartment where the windlass lives is quite simple. I had imagined removing wood trim to be a difficult task. It's not. At least, on my MkII it's not. (Your results may vary.)

Only four pieces of trim need be removed. An electric screwdriver (Phillips bit) is all that's required, The mattress need not be removed.

1. Remove the long trim strips at the hull deck joint, port and starboard. (5 screws per side.)
2. Remove the 'bridge' trim piece across the top of the upper forward 'bulkhead'. (6 screws.)
3. Remove the bow panel. (6 screws.)

Reverse the order to reinstall.

Photo attached shows access after only these four trim pieces are out.

May the Force be with you.

Yeah, I was surprised how easy it was also Larry (same on my '99).  I was in there installing a washdown fitting last fall.  (Probably should have changed the windlass oil while I was at it!)
I have a foot-operated down switch on mine - very handy, but I wish I had a remote to the cockpit... :(
