In need of replacing my halyards, looking for recommendations for brands, thinking about Sta-Set X. Thanks.

I have sta-set x for the genoa that says up. Would not use if for a non furling mainsail.
Dyneema core for our mainsail (standard slab).
Spinnaker halyard I used low cost sta-set (only fly it in very light winds).

I replaced both my main and genoa halyards with Sta Set X in 2017.  I really hated them, and ended up replacing them both in 2019.  Sta-Set X is very low stretch, which was great, but it is ridiculously stiff and not very good from a chafe standpoint IMO (the jacket of the main was already chafing in a couple of spots after 2 seasons, just from light seasonal use here in Michigan).  The stiffness was the real killer.  It made it difficult to coil the halyards and they were just a pain to deal with.  I have heard that regular Sta-Set is easier to handle.  I went with a Samson rope for the replacement halyards, and am happy with what I have now 4 seasons later.  I don't know which Samson model specifically because it appears that Defender has cleared my entire purchase history for some reason.  Good luck!

Thanks, I have heard about the stiffness of the X rope. Thinking maybe NE VPC rope. Does anyone have any experience with this rope. Thanks again.
