I have my mast down due to mast step repair, so I am going to work on the mast when it is down. Other than lights (led) any suggestions on upgrades or maintenance while I have it down? The wire to the VHF antenna looks really old so maybe new wire and antenna. TV antenna, wifi antenna? I think I want some led spreader lights. What am I forgetting?

Additional things to look at:
Check/retape the spreader chafe boots. Inspect the spreader mast mounts-somewhere I recall reading about a potential cracking problem. You may want to search this site for detail. Inspect the swage fittings for signs of broken stay strands. Run a cloth along the stays to see if it catches on any cracked or broken stays.

I took my mast down last fall to repaint it. I found that one of the spreader base castings was broken. This is a small part that sits between the spreader and the mast. Probably not a critical part, but with it broken there is a little bit of fore-and-aft wobble to the spreader, and it puts additional pressure on the pins holding the spreader in place. I ordered replacements on Catalina Direct.

Any plans for a mast mounted radar. If so an additional power line. Light for windex Improved deck/steaming light
Be sure and get a quality sealed anchor light (marinebeam).
