We could use a little help in selecting the model or correct part number of the K&N air filter that works/fits on the M-35 Universal Engine. If anyone has that part number, it would certainly help.

If all else fails, call a Universal Engine dealer. I use Hanson Marine in Marblehead MA; 781-631-3282. They ship across the US. My aircleaner housing on my M25 (C-30) broke apart from vibration and they directed me to an improved design.

I little longer than what was posted with more surface area. I think it was cheaper as well.
The specs for all the filters are on the K&N website, you are looking for a 1.75" connection - the other dimensions are flexible to a point.
Query for those of you who have installed the K&N as a replacement for the OEM "pancake" style Universal air filter:
What do you do with the crankcase vent hose (on our M25, its routed into the air filter)?

Follow up;
After consideration, I decided to go with the K&N RU2450 and side mount it on the side of the of the M-35 engine. The intake air manifold on the M-35 engine is not quite the same as the M-35 A & B engines. Although the air intake is the same diameter, (1.75) - the manifold input port on the M-35 runs parallel with the floor - where in the later model engines, the input port has an elbow and points skyward.
I do not intend to run the oil breather exhaust hose in to this filter, rather, I will take the oil breather hose and push it into an empty water bottle with some stainless steel wool at the bottom of the bottle. Not pretty but effective.

I use the 2450 as well. And I plumbed the breather tube back inot the filter to keep it from getting too oily. Works like a charm.
