I had to replace my water heater because of rust and leaking. The new water heater have all the outlets in front.
What happens if I do not conect the water cooler pipes.
I would appreciate if someone could tell me.
I will have to lengthen them and cannot find it in Vancouver BC, Canada.

If you do not connect you will not make hot water while your engine is running. You would have to connect those lines together so that water can circulate still through freshwater cooling system. Good luck!

You don't need to replace the entire hose from the engine to the heater. You simply need to extend them. The hoses are 5/8" which are similar to many garden hoses. Buy two garden hose butt connectors and get a short length of heavy duty hose from an auto parts store. Just add the new hose to the ends of the existing hoses from the engine.

Thank you for coming back to me.
I found a heat resistant pipe of the right size, conected 3 feet each side, replaced the losed coolant, but now the engen overheat. Just before I started the venture I ran the engen for a hour or more without trouble.
Does this make sence?

Good possibility that there is an air pocket in the coolant loop somewhere, since you drained it. Do a search on this site on the word "burping" and you'll find a host of prior discussions as to how to get the air out.

Thank you.
So that's what it is called: burping. Thanks.
There have to be a air lock in the new heater. I disconnected the heater and just joined the pipes.
Engine now functioning as normal.
Heater do not give instructions how to get rid of the air loc, but will keep on trying and report back.
Thank you for the important info on how to burp the engin as a unit.
