Shroud Mounted Spinnaker Pole Ring Attachment Hardware

My limitations:
- my boat does not have a mast track to mount a spinnaker attachment ring.
- my spinnaker pole that came with my boat only extends to 14'
- don't want to replace spinnaker pole or mount mast track
- looking for a shroud mounted ring cleat that will allow me to snap in one end of spinnaker pole.
- don't race, want simple attachment with u bolts for the forward shrouds.
- have found small shroud cleat at various web sites, but ring is too small and and not really suitable for snapping in spinnaker pole.

Peter,
You might want to re-think your plan.  Putting a small whisker pole on a shroud, or even holding one out in very light airs has been done often, but a spinnaker pole exerts a LOT of force.  I think you'd be asking for trouble with any type of pole attachment to a forward lower shroud.  Plus, it would be one more thing for a genoa to get hung up on during a tack, and possibly tear the sail.  Just a thought.

Thanks Tom.  I am  looking for easy wing on wing, super light air solution with out replacing whisker pole or adding mast track and ring hardware.  Appreciate your comments.

Extensible boathook and junior crewmember at the shrouds holding the clew out, is how I've seen it done in very light air.

Personally I'd always set a course somewhat off dead downwind gybeing as needed ... I always get more speed to destination and it's a more peaceful ride without having to worry about keeping the boat exactly on course to keep the wings out.

Peter,
That being the case, I would simply lash a SS ring to the shroud (maybe 2" dia?) and clip the whisker pole to it. The lashing twine could act as a type of circuit breaker, in case anything got hung up on it.
