hi
welcome back
you have to look at the bright side:
- most likely she wasnt the right one
- you crashed but still alive and kicking
- at least you know about it and can fight it back and you live in a country where treatment is available
it could be worst, always look at the bright side!!
regards

1) Get treatment from those who see your specific type of cancer every day
2) You may have little control how you physically react to treatment and the illness, but you have total control how you mentally react; everything to gain by being positive and nothing to gain by being negative.
Out of the blue, in Oct 2009 I was told I had 3-6 months left. A bone marrow transplant and several hospitalizations with intensive chemo brought me to a place I would wish on no one, but refused to let it crush my attitude. Then, just after my treatments ended, my wife was diagnosed with a different cancer and entered into her treatment.
Too weak to sail, our family prepped the boat and put it in the water determined that we should go on living as long as we were breathing.
That was 4+ years ago. There's a lot of great developments and wonderful care givers in the cancer field
Remeber to live and best wishes.

Welcome back Blair, The girl guy thing happens to us all some good usually comes of it. Cancer as stated more treatments available more than ever. I'm a cancer survivor as well...currently cancer free! The year I retired within the week I crashed my Infinity, crunched my bow on a bouy, and crashed my tractor.....they all survived as well as me. My wife thought I should go back to work, I did!

Glad to have you back, Blair -- hope the cancer stays away and you stay in good health!
As to your other maladies -- look on the bright side, you still have the boat. Back in my single days, I found that the boat was always a help when finding ones next lady-love!

Blair, welcome back.
Re prostate cancer...been there, done that. You're not alone. Mine's been somewhere in a rubbish bin these last three years or so. My theory is that it didn't get enough use in my younger years. ;)

Blair,
Thank god it was just a women, a motorcycle wreck and cancer. When I first read your post I was afraid you had sold the boat.
You may not feel like sailing just yet but I suggest that you take a sandwich and a cold soda down to the marina and relax in the cockpit, remember finding that groove when the wind and sails are trimmed just right.
A C36 makes a dang good mistress - she's high maintenance but delightful and you can always show her off to your friends.
Much good sailing ahead for you!

90 day post surgery test results say no Cancer.
Time to start working on my boat again.
I have a bunch of stuff I bought to ad.
Flat screen tv, Zarcor companionway doors, Garhauer engine davit, etc. etc.
I have paid someone to change the fluids and filters, and going to try to do that myself now.
I have no idea where to start on that maintenance stuff, so i guess i have some reading to do.
I would imagine my owners manuals and here would be a good place to start.

So glad to read of your great news! I am sure your boat missed you and now craves your attention.
I can tell you that the Zarcor door installation is pretty straightforward and it is a wonderful addition to make using the companionway a breeze.
Installing the davits can be easy, too, if you take your time and really think every step through. You will want to be sure that the lower mounting bracket is somewhere accessible to install the backing plate and nuts. Also, make sure you drill straight through or your inside holes will not line up with the holes in the backing plate. One trick is to make a jig of wood about 1.5 inch thick that has the 4 holes in it. That will guide your drill bit straight enough to make it work.
Good luck.

Duane,
thanks for the tips.
Care to provide one more tip? I am able to respond to this thread topic, but not able to start a new topic.
I have emailed webmaster. Any other suggestions?

Blair,
I am embarassed to say i don;t know as much about the function of the new website as I should. Nick, our webmaster, should get back to you soon.
I can tell you that one or two new topics I tried to create were delayed. I think there may be an approval process involved since we are letting anyone post in the forum and not just members and the SPAM was getting out of control.

Duane,
Yep, it does appear that responses to existing topics are not moderated, but new topics need admin approval.
