I am doing a search on the phrase, "Balmar alternator model 621"
and I get this.....

"The search term you specified (621) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.
If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific."
So what is the trick with searching our site?

As one of your technical editors I am ashamed to admit that I do not know.
How do you come up with the correct four words?
Like Jeprody, do you need to phrase it as a question? I use Google, I am sure Mr. Brin needs the money.

It doesn't consider a word less than 4 characters a word. I tried some experiments on this a while back. That value can be changed in the forum setup, and certain words can be added as exceptions. However, when I changed that value from 4 to 3 in the setup for the forums it did not work, nothing changed. Adding words as exceptions (I tried "bow") did not work. It's another problem we hope to fix with an upgrade.
But Google is the solution here, you can specify to search this site when using Google and it should not have that problem. So if you wanted to search for "bow tank" you would put in Google "bow tank site:c36ia.com". It works.
Thanks Bud,
We have a ton of good information in the data that makes up this forum.
A good search tool seems to be a future priority.
To pass along the goal of my search, I am looking for anyone to confirm the Balmar alternator model (70 amp) for my Universal M35A engine?
