I have two solar vents (one in the head, the other just inside the v-berth. Both have stopped working.
Question - anyone know if these are repairable?
If not - are they easy to remove/replace?
Thanks in advance.

Did you try gaining access to the fan blade and giving it a spin with your finger? I had mine get stuck once or twice but it worked for a long while after 'kick starting' it.

I did try that, but it didn't work. I am assuming that the solar panel has worn out- but I don't know much at all about solar.

Generally, solar panels should last almost indefinitely. Of course, wiring could corrode, or somethig in the motor could go bad.
If it is possible to get access to various test points, you could use a volt meter to see how much voltage, if any, is coming off the solar array. I have to mention that my vent has a small switch that can disable it. I assume you checked that, too.
Good luck.

I will check for a switch (I have not yet done that - my bad). Where might I attach a voltmeter? To the top of the solar panel? Or do I need to get it into the wiring?
Thanks much

You would need to disassemble enough to get to wiring connections. I have not attempted to do that on mine.
I usually figure that if is not economically repairable by a so-called professional, I have nothing to lose by trying to take it apart and attempt a repair. If I fail, it was trash anyway.

Like others have said, sometimes they need a kick start...I know mine do. You could have a wiring issue or the batteries are toast. You may want to check the rechargeable batteries. I plan on replacing my 2 with new "C" ni-cad rechargeable batteries.

Thanks all - I will pull the batteries this weekend and see what I can find. Will report back.
