There is a wealth of information on doing the Baja bash north, too much to relate here but generally the recommendation is to keep well inshore to avoid the current and sail/motor at night to avoid the afternoon winds. There are usually 2 or 3 C36's that make the trip south, I think there were three this year. The Baja ha ha WEB site lists the boats by year and you may want to research and see if you can contact some of these boats for more information on doing the noth bound trip. I may be doing the south bound trip in 2011.

One thing I forgot to mention is the on-shore set of the current. You want to maintain adequate distance from shore and keep a frequent and close check on your position.
