Stainless shaft replacement

L'asse è l'originale in bronzo.

Perhaps someone can help this Catalina boat owner.

And ' the first speech that I make. I possess a Catalina 36 ' imported in Italy (Sicily), from Florida. I make excuses myself for my English bad one and to pick l' occasion in order to introduce me to this wonderful association. After the presentation of this necessary and much short one immediately to give to the questions. I must replace l' tree axis of my boat. L' axis is l' it originates them in bronze. I have thought to replace it with an axis in stainless steel. I have not removed l' old tree and I have two worries: 1) It can pull to me l' axis without to remove the rudder? 2) Catalina sells an axis of 52 " and one of 57". I have a universal motor M35B. To know which is the length registered letter? 3) I have three shovels. The boat in backward motion suffers the straight effect-handed excessive propeller. It can depend from the length dell' axis? What propeller advises to me? (even if creed that l' propeller is originates them). Thanks for the councils that you will give to me.

Bill,
If you could translate back, that would be great.

Piero,
1) Yes, you can remove the prop shaft without removing the rudder, if you first remove the cutless bearing. That will give you enough room to slide the shaft past the rudder.
2) Because the M35B is a "longer" engine (4 cylinders vs. 3), you want the shorter (52") prop shaft.
3) The length of the prop shaft will make no difference with your "prop walk". Most other owners use the prop walk to their advantage. Always make a tight turn to starboard, and approach a dock port-side to. To make the boat back up in a straight line, you can try giving the engine a burst of throttle in reverse, and then shift to neutral, until the boat begins to move backwards. Repeat as many times as necessary. You need water flowing past the rudder to offset the effects of the prop walk. Hope this helps.

Excuse me, but I had written in Italian

It 'the first speech I do. I own a Catalina 36 'imported in Italy (Sicily) from Florida. I apologize for my bad English and take this opportunity to introduce me to this wonderful association.
After this necessary and very brief presentation immediately give to the questions.
Should I replace the shaft of my boat. The shaft is the original bronze. I thought I'd replace it with a stainless steel shaft.
I have not removed the old shaft and I have two concerns:
1) I can pull the shaft without removing the rudder?
2) Catalina sells an shaft 52 "and one of 57". I have a Universal M35B engine. Know what is the recommended length?
3) I have a three-blade propeller. The boat in reverse suffers excessively effect right-handed propeller. May depend on the length of the axis? What propeller do you recommend? (although I believe that the propeller is original).
Thanks for the advice that you will give me.
