Lake Ontario
Great Lakes Cruising Club has an article on this subject in there most recent Lifeline. The GLCC has the most detailed info on cruising the Great Lakes as any source I know of. It is also more affordable to join now $108us vs about $450 til recently. Website is www.glcclub.com
Hi Luc
We picked up our boat near Toronto and took the opportunity to cruise east through the Bay of Quinte, Kingston and the west end of the 1000 Islands. We used the Ports Cruising Guide for Lake Ontario & The Thousand Islands. The Ports Guide was very good although we only had time to spend 2 weeks in Lake Ontario and the Thousand Islands before we headed back west to to the Welland Ship canal to take our new boat home to Lake Huron.

On the above site you can view a pdf version of some of the pages for the guide.
I just dug out my old copy of the Lake Ontario and Thousand Islands guide and checked out the coverage for the Thousand Islands and it appears to be very good. It has numerous coloured aerial photos, orientation maps, lots of information about places (US and Canadian side), anchorages, marinas, facilities, restaurants, things to do. It covers Lake Ontario and the entire Thousand Island area and the river east to Morrisburg.
Based on a great many weeks of experience with the 'Georgian Bay, the North Channel and Lake Huron' Ports Guide for our area, I can say it is very good so I expect the Lake Ontario/Thousand Island version is as good.
