1999 Catalina 36 MkII #1810... Would like to replace the 12" fluorescent fixture in head with LED that has both white and red lights. I searched the Forum and found discussions of swapping tube for white LEDs, but nothing about getting either white or red light. Has anybody done this, and if so how and with what products(s)? Thanks in advance for any help! All ideas welcome no matter how crazy creative!

Joe... I replaced the tube light over the galley with an LED white light but they come with a red/white light option. This would undoubtedly work in the space where you want it. I got it either thru Defender or West... too long ago to remember.
The only problem was that the wires didn't quite fit under the light so one end has about a 1/4" gap (only I know it's there). If I was doing it again, I'd create teak washer type piece for under the light with the center cut out for the wires.
Let me know when you are going to be in the harbor and I can show you what I mean.

Jubilee went all LED ten years ago. Super simple....got LED replacement bulbs for all the small side and overhead lights. Replacements for the three fluorescent tube fixtures with LED was a piece of cake. All have two levels of lights and all can use either white or red or both. Should be easy to find....try Amazon in addition to Defender or West.Might even find them in a place like Home Depot.
