Sherwood to Oberdorfer conversion notes

-Our Sherwood pump looked like it was brandnew but was solid rust on the backside

-I used a Dremmel to modify the Oberdorfer mounting flange- cut off wheel and sanding attachmenents- worked great and gave a clean look. The cutoff wheel can readily make a cut of about 1/16 inch depth with each pass. Cut straight and use the sanding wheel to smooth the appearance.

-Of the two flange holes for bolting the pump, one preexisting hole can be used but a new one must be drilled. Use a thick paper template to locate the 2nd hole- and take your time with focus on accuracy.

-The original mounting bolts must be shortened about 1/8"- as they bottom out.

-A Flange gasket can me made with thin gasket stock from NAPA- use the template

-The clamp on antifreeze hose immediatley below the raw water pump will likely need replacement

-Unless you use two entirely new holes, the pump will mount at an angle that puts the weep hole at a higher point- may want to carefully drill a new weep hole at the bottom
