Yet again anchor locker drain question

I've searched, and found several folks inserted smaller plastic tubing inside the existing copper tubbing on the MK1 anchor locker drain holes.  Some even said they plan on drilling out the existing stuff and putting a new tube in there -

So I was wondering if there are any gotcha's or photos before I tackle this task - Mine is leaking and partially plugged precluding the smaller tubing fix.  My current thought is to drill out the existing tube and make a replacement out of glass tapered a bit at the bow end and a screen to keep stuff out of the top end.

I just drilled it out and inserted a piece of 1/2" copper plumbing pipe and potted it in epoxy. 1/2" should be big enough to allow most dirt and gunk to drain out.

Thanks Desert

I think I'll wait for better weather before attempting this -- I'll take pic's for those who follow.

I spent time sailing the Snake and Columbia around the Tri-Cities - where do you sail in the middle of the dry side of Oregon??
