Starter Motor Gasket

Hello,

I recently replaced the starter motor on our m25xp. The new starter did not come with a new gasket. I reused the old gasket, but it may not survive another motor removal. We cannot find a source for these gaskets. The seller for the new starter was not much help either. Have any of you replaced this gasket and can provide asource?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff - I changed out my starter just a few months ago and the was no gasket.  There is not one listed on toad’s exploaded diagrams. And for the life of me I can’t think of a reason you would need or want a gasket there.

Well, there was a gasket there when I removed the starter so assumed it was there for a reason. Maybe cut down on vibration? Yes, I had noticed that the exploded diagram didn’t include it. However, I did find a source. Discount Marince Source has a a part looks like a replacement. Part number is 299513. But like you say, probably not necessary if Universal doesn’t list it.

thanks,
Jeff
