Starter battery

Someone once said there is no such thing as a stupid question. I'm here to prove there is an exception to every rule. I have the standard battery 1 and battery 2 bank. I have seen no other batteries on the boat. I think my engine starts on one of those two batteries probably bat 1. I am several hours from my boat otherwise I would just go down to check. I have been reading about starting batteries and it started me thinking. Can someone clarify. Thanks much, Bill

Assuming your boat's wiring hasn't been altered since it left the factory, the engine will be started from whatever bank your battery switch is on at the moment.
