Hi All,
A few buddies at the marina have hired a diver to replace zincs this week, and I realized that I don't even know where my zincs are on this new (to us) boat.
I read all of the info I could find on the site and here in the forums, but they only reference the Heat Exchanger and Shaft zincs (no mention of strut or keel zincs)
- Shaft: What size shaft? (I keep forgetting to bring calipers to the boat and my manual says "1' or 1-1/4")
- Strut: Is there a zinc on the shaft strut on these boats?
- Keel: I see a couple of options at Catalina Direct, but two other C36 owners at the marina said that their boats don't have these?
- Heat Exchanger: I have a bunch on hand, swapped when I bought the boat in December - no sign of wear yet.
The PO installed a pretty beefy galvanic transformer to combat stray currents spending a couple of years in Mexico, but I'd certainly rather have fresh zincs as a proven "low-tech" solution...
Thanks for any info you can share!

Steve,
Our 1999 model has a 1 inch dia torpedo zinc on the prop shaft and one small pencil zinc in the heat exchanger. That's it.

Duane,
Thanks! Yeah, that seems to be the norm from talking with others. I just didn't want to waste the use of a diver (the water is still in the 40s here) and miss any zinc locations, etc..
And, there are so many zincs on our wood boat that two little zincs just seemed suspicious to me. ;^>

Steve,
I have a Shaft zinc, a flat Strut zinc and a cone zinc on the Max Prop as well as the pencil zinc in the Heat Exchanger. When I bought the boat I thought there may have been one in the water heater but I couldn't find one nor did I see it mentioned in the manual.
