Relocate RACOR to stb engine bulkhead?

Hello - has anyone had experience relocating your RACOR fuel filter to the starboard bulkhead in the engine compartment, underneath the engine cover and above the oil dipstick check hinged panel? If so, did you run into any complications?

Specifically I'm wondering if the heat in the engine compartment might cause a problem.  The RACOR specs say maximum fuel temp for the filter operation is 190 deg F.  Any idea what temptation the engine compartment would get to?

I know the latest standards require that the RACOR bowl be changed from a plastic to a metal bowl for fire protection reasons.

Any advice is appreciated.

I changed the filter to a turbine unit and relocated it there a couple of years ago and no issues.  The picture shows part of the filter assembly, but you can see where it is mounted.

Ours is located on the port side of the engine compartment near the muffler; probably the standard location for the MKII. We've never had an issue with heat.

Just what I'm planning to do Bob.  What turbine unit did you choose?  I'm guessing the heat deflection shield under the filter allows you to have a clear glass/plastic bowl?

Thx Phil for your reply.

I installed the Turbine 500 MA model.  I believe the heat shield is a CG requirement.
