Motor mounts 88 Catalina 36

I have an 88 Catalina 36 with the M25 engine. I noticed the bolts holding the motor mounts to the hull were backed off. I went to tighten them and they seemed to be stripped. There doesn’t seem to be any easy way to get to the other side of the bolts to remedy the situation. Any ideas? Thanks.

Had the same issue with my '86 C30. I removed the loose engine mount screws, injected some epoxy- filling maybe half the hole depth, greased the screws and placed them back in the holes. The bed is made with a wood core. The grease acts as a release agent on the screws (don't load them up- just a light coating) so they still can be removed and engine mounts adjusted on the bed. Seemed to work for as long as I owned the boat after that.

You could also completely fiil the screw holes with epoxy if you can get a drill in there to open them to the correct diameter for the screw.
