I am contemplating changing from a fixed 2 bladed propeller to a 3 blade Autostream feathering propeller. My propeller manufacture has requested some basic specs of the boat in order to supply the best size and specs, most of which I have found in the owners manual.
The Catalina 36MK2 (hull 1413) is fitted with a 2 bladed Martec propeller, but before I make the investment to a purchasing a feathering propeller, I have noticed in the Universal engine manual that there where 2 types of engines that where used in these boats, namely, MB-35A or MB-35B which have a difference in hp and max RPM. How would I be able to determine which type of engine was fitted to this boat and how would I be able to identify this.
Thanks in advance

Short answer is that unless the original engine was pulled and replaced you'll have an M35A. The M35B didn't come into being until 1996/1997 according to Universal's data. The big round thing on the front casting is the dead giveaway for the M35B though.
