How to mount outboard on te stern?

Hi,
I have had a Catalina 30 without the stern seats and had a outboard 2.2 hp mounted on the plan on the rail (pulpit??). But the stern did not have the Catalinaseats i now have (and adore) on my Catalina 36 mk1.5, so there was plenty of room. But now, with the seats, I want to know where you would mount the outboard when it's not on the dingy?

You could probably mount it on the side of the stern rail, but it may block access to the stern cleat. We have ours mounted on the stern rail and yes, it does eliminate use of one of the swim seats when the motor is in place.
