Hi All apologise if it's been asked before We have our C36 mk11 1995 m36 engine boatyard has just told me gearbox is slipping what are my options as would prefer knowledge rather than boatyard tinkering or overcharge as they have never saw a C36 before I am in the Uk. Many thanks Kenny & Amanda

Make sure you're getting full travel on the gear shift arm. There's an article in the Fall 2015 issue of Mainsheet that gives description, troubleshooting, removal, and replacement options.
In a nutshell, if your arm has full travel and you still have slippage, you might try changing fluid just in case the torque balls are gummed up, but this is a long shot. More often than not, slippage is worn clutch disks caused by either excessive drag on the prop and not remedied in short order, or sailing with the engine off and the transmission in forward. The only option is removal and then either rebuild or replace.

Thank very much Nick for the info ,it now after lubrication always goes into reverse but in forward two pos three goes and it clicks in and does not slip until you go for reverse then when you need some brakes backing into dock its not happening
